In Europe, bodybuilding: Definition and Benefits took great strides during Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt, but it was mainly reserved for the wealthy rather than the 'hot guy next door.' However, in our century, the upper class prefers to gravitate towards tennis, golf, classical music, rather than this discipline, even though bodybuilding is gaining popularity again as a trend."

A term for multiple disciplines: Strength Training - Definition and Benefits of Muscle Strengthening.

Indeed, the term "musculation" refers to 4 sports related to increasing strength or muscle volume. The most well-known, bodybuilding, aims to achieve the highest muscle volume with minimal fat (lean) and little asymmetry.

The powerlifting: it involves lifting the heaviest possible weight according to one's weight category in the following exercises: bench press, deadlift, and squat.

"Another well-known one is weightlifting , which is also represented at the Olympic level; it shares many similarities with the previous category. Only the exercises differ. Here, the snatch and clean and jerk are allowed."

We've all experienced zapping through channels and stumbling upon one where a big bearded guy, half-naked, is pulling a train or an airplane with just a rope. These men are called Strongmen. Unlike other competitions, this one does not have weight categories or specific exercises.

Reminder: the term 'fitness' is synonymous with bodybuilding, no more and no less.

Eugen Sandow, the Pioneer of Bodybuilding.

Born in 1867 and passing away in 1925, Friedrich Wilhelm Mueller, also known as the German athlete, was the first recognized bodybuilder, revered as the Father of this discipline. Prior to earning this title, he began as a strongman, showcasing his talents in circuses. However, it was during his debut competition in 1893 in Chicago that he left a lasting impression. Unlike other competitors, he displayed a well-developed, lean physique. Showcasing both his "gorilla" strength and "Titan" body artistically through choreographed routines, he later pioneered the first bodybuilding competition in England and introduced weightlifting machinery.

Cultural point: the term "sandow" refers to elastic cables.

The Popularity of Bodybuilding in Recent Years.

"It was at the beginning of the 20th century that the popularity of this practice greatly increased, especially in America. This evolution is evident in the growing number of people joining gyms and the emergence of machines. Along the California coast, a dedicated space for exercise enthusiasts called 'Muscle Beach' emerged. It was also during this time that terms like 'Mr. America' and 'Mr. Universe' first appeared. Additionally, performance-enhancing drugs were rarely present.

Today, unfortunately, we observe a degradation of the unique vision of bodybuilding, largely due to the overexposure of predominantly drug-enhanced individuals on social media, who prefer to sell unattainable goals with promotional codes rather than guide a community in need and show solidarity.

Let's change that!"
